A little over a month ago, I was notified that I would represent the United Nations Association as a delegate to CSW57 (shorthand for the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, 57th Session).

Beginning on March 4, CSW57 will take place over two weeks and will focus on this most important topic as it not only impacts individual lives but also has an adverse impact on wider society.

As an urban planner, I am especially interested in the creation of public spaces being safe for women and girls. During the month of March I will post on my experiences at CSW57, but first, here is a welcome video providing a bit of background about CSW57 from Marjon Kamara, permanent representative of Liberia to the United Nations who is serving a chair of of the event.
