Sometimes it seems hard enough to share our planet with the seven billion other people who inhabit it, so its no wonder that we sometimes forget that humanity is but one of millions of species that share it with us. Scientists have so far catalogued 1.3 Million species though the number of living species is likely far beyond this; estimates have “ranged from as few as 3 million to as many as 100 million.” [New York Times]
The point is that for us to co-exist with all this diversity, we must learn to live in balance. That means massive waste reduction, extensively cutting greenhouse gases, avoiding toxins with each purchase you make, assessing the impact from your methods of transportation, and generally being more mindful of your energy usage, and the conditions in which both your clothes and food are produced.
That’s a tonne of things to be thinking about, and you’ll probably need some help implementing the changes necessary.
