Dan Peterson, originally from Portland, OR, is a freelance designer and illustrator with extensive experience in print and interactive design. On his website, you can find his portfolio, blog as well as a contact page.
One of his latest project ‘Tiny Planets’ is an impressive group of images using both real photographs and remixed, edited photographs meshed together to create a fictional planet.
Since figuring out what stereographic projection means, I have been obsessed with making these tiny planets. It started out with creating fictional planets, writing lengthy descriptions of their history, the story of their discovery, composition, extraterrestrial profile, gravity index, and whole bunch of other statistics.
Some are actual 360 panoramic photos turned into tiny planets, and others are heavily edited and remixed panoramic photos that make up abstract patterns.I’ve had way too much fun making these. I hope you enjoy them! -Dan Peterson.
