In 2010, photographer Alícia Rius stumbled upon her first abandoned house. Since then, she has traveled around Europe, developing a passion for photographing neglected spaces: from castles to cars, hospitals to churches.
Her work explores the loneliness and the intrigue of these locations. Through small details and found objects, Rius suggests the stories of those who once lived and worked there. Fragments of beauty are rescued from time’s clutches, and presented in their silent, fragile resting places.
