On April 20, 2010, the oil rig named Deepwater Horizon exploded, triggering an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. It was the largest oil spill in U.S. history.

The oil spill was the most searched term on Yahoo that year. Chris Harmon, the author of the video, wondered ‘what if the disaster had never happened?’

Harmon questioned what that tremendous amount of spilled oil might have been used for, and shows us just how dependent on oil we truly are.
