Data released by WHO and Alzheimer’s Disease International recently shows that a new case of dementia occurs every 4 seconds. In this infographic, courtesy of Good and Column 5, we see that despite Alzheimer’s being the sixth deadliest disease in America, only 40% think of it as a fatal condition. Nonetheless, according to surveys carried out in five countries, this form of dementia is the one people most worry about contracting, second to cancer. Late in March we welcomed the news in the UK that David Cameron had promised to double funding for dementia research, this is certainly a step forward in the right direction.
